first off skip the cruise ship next time !!!!

you should have gotten a small boat to take you out to the many small islands on the reef… incredible beaches, some of the finest diving and snorkling in the world, low crime (if any, never experienced any myself) great music, lots of local “herb” to go with a cold beer while on the beach…

And Belize City was beautiful 50 years ago, just look at all the beautiful wrought iron (now decayed…)

So you took a cruise, got off at port, and are now judging AN ENTIRE COUNTRY by your experience? You’re killing me.

If you want to experience a country, don’t take a cruise. Spend time there and do what the locals do.

Spent three nights there in 1982 when in RAF, described as a pimple on the backside of the world. They said don’t drink the local water and don’t eat the seafood. Well, ice is made from tap water and you need that in your drinks and you either have steak or seafood for a meal, I had both. Guess what, got Belize gut on my return home, my bum was in tatters. From the air, you should see the brown ring that surrounds the place, raw sewage, says it all really.

I agree with dottie. I do understand your view of Belize however, you were misled. The beauty of Belize is NOT in the city. The Cayes, Placencia and the Rainforest are all full of unbelievable beauty.

Really openminded to judge a country by a few hour in a cruise port. I spent som time in Belize this new year, and I absolutely loved it. By the way… Don’t go to USA. I was at Miami Airport and it was horrible, this must mean that the entire country is crap. Right?

I have never been to Belize, but it seems to me that you did not do your homework befor the trip. You should have done research into what there is that’s appropriate for children the age of your children and if nothing was to your liking, then you should have gone elsewhere. You must take some responsibility for how the tirp turned out.

I were in Belize just some days ago andi just loved it!
My family and i are going to buy a house there so we can stay there when ever we like it was wonderfull.
If you want exhiting views and adventures thats the place to go
