Don’t go there that’s it. Miami is a pretty place but the people are ridiculously rude. Lots of people have a problem because people speak Spanish but that does not bother me at all seeing as how I speak it fairly well. The problem for me is that people there are ridiculously rude here is just one example this one really really bothered me. We were walking in a bookstore and I guess a man was in a hurry so he is walking quickly takes both his hands and puts them on either side of my 7 year old cousin to move her out of his way. Why in the world a full grown man would think its ok to touch much less physically move a 7 year old girl is beyond me. Driving is absolutely insane in Miami people drive like maniacs but what’s frightening is that after driving there you find yourself driving a bit violently yourself. Overall Miami just seems like an icky place. There was one thing I enjoyed though we went to get fireworks and we saw some funny signs I can only remember two off the top of my head “Legitt Drug Store” and “Family Liquor Store” I thought those were hilarious. Besides signs Miami has nothing to offer me I can have any of the experiences people go to Miami for somewhere else. Someplace nicer.

YEARS AGO A FRIEND CALLED MIAMI ONE OF THE ‘ARMPITS OF THE NATION’ AND NOW IT IS EVEN WORSE. I KNOW, I LIVE IN KEY WEST AND WILL NOT GO THERE. MY YELLOW PAGES REP(WHO IS CUBAN & SHOULD FIT IN UP THERE) SAYS HE LIKES KEY WEST A LOT MORE BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY.

I live in Miami and, although I agree it is not the nicest place in the planet, it is not that awful. At least that is what all full hotels in the city tell me, even in the middle of a recession.
Please don’t let one bad experience make your mind up.
