The Embassy Suites, Downtown Minneapolis, MN

The Embassy Suites Downtown Minneapolis is like a flashback from hotels of 25+ years ago … in South Florida. The decor is laughable deco with tile and faux palms everywhere. In the room we had a smoke detector hanging from the ceiling, several light bulbs were out, and the headboard was padded vinyl! All the furnishings are old as hell, the rooms are dirty (and in our case, damaged - the door to the bathroom had been punched but not repaired). Don’t go there.

Also forgot to mention the TV’s were tiny (maybe 13-15″) and in my case didn’t work. Window overlooked a ledge covered with bird shit and beer cans. Curtains were zebra print. Water stains on the ceiling and dustbunnies in the bathroom vents. The complimentary soap was crap and the bathroom was tiny and poorly laid out.

Staff, however, was nice and the hotel has a gratis breakfast that’s very good.
