It was a Best Western Hotel in Porterville, California. Now I’ve heard Californians don’t have central heat and air installed in their homes, as a general rule, but this was crazy:
I check in and head to my room. When I get there I can’t help but to notice that there was no chair, no table, no drawers for your clothes, no night stand, and no air conditioning after 8:00. You heard me right, no air conditioning after 8:00. The temperature in every room is controlled by management from a roof thermostat. Every evening, the air conditioning is cut off to conserve energy. When we complained it was so hot at night, we were offered a fan. I said I didn’t want a fan, I paid for air conditioning. The lady said sorry, there is nothing she could do.
Try to beat that one.

dang…I have never heard of that

Californians don’t have central heat and air installed in their homes, as a general rule? What? Where did you hear this? Is this actually a rumor going around?
